1. Agreement
By downloading or using Saucier (“the app”), or by using saucier-app.com (“the site”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app or the site.
The app and the site are provided by Brandon Walton (“we”, “us”). Contact: help@saucier-app.com.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms.
You may not: redistribute or sell the app; reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where that right cannot lawfully be restricted; remove any proprietary notices; or use it to break the law.
3. Your content
Your recipes are yours. We claim no ownership of, and no licence to, any recipe, photo, note or other content you add to the app.
We also have no access to it. Your content is stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We operate no server and hold no copy. See the privacy policy.
You are responsible for your own content, including having the right to save and store anything you import from elsewhere. Recipes you save from the web remain subject to whatever rights their original publishers hold; the app is for your personal use.
4. Backups are your responsibility
Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot restore it. If you delete the app, lose your device or lose access to your Apple Account, your recipes may be unrecoverable by anyone, including us.
The app can export your whole library to a file at any time from its settings. Doing that periodically is a good idea.
5. Price and availability
The app is currently free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. We may change what future versions cost, or stop publishing the app altogether. If that happens, we will not remove your ability to use recipes you have already saved in a version you have already installed.
We make no commitment that the app will remain available, be updated, or continue to support any particular device or iOS version.
6. Third-party services
The app uses features provided by Apple, including iCloud, CloudKit, Apple Intelligence, Speech Recognition, Reminders and notifications. Your use of those is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
When you save a recipe, your device requests that page directly from the website in question. The content of those pages, and their terms, are nothing to do with us.
If you choose USDA FoodData Central for nutrition estimates, your device sends ingredient search terms and the selected API key directly to USDA. See the privacy policy for details.
7. Not cooking or dietary advice
The app displays recipes and nutrition information that it reads from the sources you give it. It can also estimate nutrition from ingredients, and the assistant generates suggestions such as ingredient substitutions. None of it is professional dietary, nutritional, medical or food-safety advice.
Automated extraction, nutrition estimates and AI-generated suggestions can be wrong. Check quantities, cooking times and temperatures, and in particular check anything that matters for an allergy, an intolerance or a medical condition against a source you trust. Use your own judgement on food safety.
8. No warranty
The app and the site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any recipe it extracts will be accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or the site.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app (which is currently nothing) or five US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do. Continuing to use the app or the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
